Digital Radiology

A radiograph or x-ray of your horse can help our veterinarians uncover valuable information about bones, joints, and joint balance in equine athletes.

Many conditions that horses are prone to developing can be detected, including degenerative joint disease (arthritis), laminitis and fractures.

In addition, we are able to offer contrast studies. For laminitis cases, being able to perform a venogram and view the blood supply within the foot allows us to closely monitor progression of disease. For penetrating wounds, for example to the foot, the injection of contrast dye permits us to determine the full extent of the injury, including the involvement of any deeper structures.
