About Us

Barwon Equine Hospital is a 3 vet solely Equine Practice.  We are situated in Moolap on 5 acres. Here we have built a new hospital facility. This comprises a surgery and padded recovery room, examination and xray and ultrasound room, two crushes for use with horse and mare examinations and scoping, foal crush, stables, scales, separate intensive care and isolation stables, roundyard and post and rail day yards, trotting and lameness evaluation areas and loading ramp facilities. 

We offer an ambulatory and hospital service and a 24hr a day 365 days a year emergency service.  Our facilities include a hospital for more seriously ill horses and a day yard complex for the less intensive cases. We also offer radiology (X-rays), reproductive, tendon and other ultrasounds, endoscopy of the respiratory tract as well as artificial insemination and other breeding services.  We work with all types of horses/ponies from miniatures to Clydesdales.

Our vets have diverse areas of interest stretching from reproduction to performance horse medicine and lameness. Our Veterinarians attend conferences all over the world to keep updated on the latest developments in horse health so we can offer the most up to date treatment options for our clients.
